Description
Qualifications:
Required:
1. 7+ years of experience in fiber optics communication electrical design.
2. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Masters Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent highly desired.
3. Knowledge of fiber-optic and optoelectronic components, hands-on experience with fusion splicing and high precision assembly processes.
4. Knowledge of the methods of preparing designs, plans, specifications and schedule estimates relating to product development and maintenance.
5. Knowledge of principles and utilization of CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools for the generation of design documentation, such as schematics, block diagrams, state diagrams, etc; familiarity with CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) tools for the simulation of electronic circuits.
6. Ability to communicate effectively, both in oral and written form.
7. Experience with fiber optic electrical modules testing and assembly, including modulators, lasers, fiber amplifiers, isolators and couplers, and a variety of ESD sensitive fiber optic components.
Desirable:
1. Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; Masters degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent highly desired.
2. Minimum twelve years experience in Electrical Engineering.
3. Minimum of 5 years experience in high-speed digital design.
4. Some experience in a manufacturing environment.
Job Description:
1. Designs and modifies fiber communication products.
2. Troubleshoots complex opto-electronic system issues.
3. Specifies and tests optical transceivers and electronic components.
4. Interfaces with production in coordinating the release of enhanced products.
5. Provides sustaining assistance for the existing products.
6. Acts independently to determine methods and procedures on new or special assignments
