Description

Qualifications:

 

Required:

 

1.         Bachelors Degree with computer emphasis or Computer Science.

2.         4 to 6 years experience in Business Basic or COBOL.

3.         Knowledge of the theory, capabilities, limitations and operating principles of computers and related equipment.

4.         Knowledge of the basic elements of programming.

5.         Knowledge of modern accounting principles, practices, and methods.

6.         Ability to communicate effectively with those contacted in the course of work, both in written and oral  form.

7.         Ability to work in a drug free environment and pass a pre-employment drug screen.

 

Desirable:

 

1.         Minimum 2 years basic accounting courses

2.         Knowledge of Lotus 1-2-3, MS WORD, MS EXCEL

 

Job Description:

 

1.         Writes, tests, and documents computer programs requested by user departments.

2.         Interfaces terminals and personal computers into mainframe/servers.

3.         Researches, diagnoses and solves hardware and software problems as they arise, being available as needed; performs minor service and repair when necessary.

4.         Provides guidance and training to users of computer applications; answers users’ inquiries concerning software systems.

5.         Provides frequent night time and weekend support for operating departments.

6.         Lead and direct the work of others.

7.         Upholds Pelco’s Commitment to Excellence standards at all times.

8.         Performs related duties as assigned.
